BBC Men’s Ministry

Purpose: BBC men, created in God’s image, saved to His glory, growing in Christ, faithfully fulfilling their biblical roles and responsibilities as men, brothers, husbands, fathers, and leaders.

Mission: Provide a venue, the Gospel, and biblical teaching for growing godly men.

Vision: “Until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:12)

Ministry Components

Component # 1 – Discipling

  • to 1-3 groupings – Paul to Timothy, father to son, or older brother to younger brother types (2 Timothy 2:1-2)  
  • Promote a culture of discipling outside of formal men’s gathering (assigned or organic relationships)

Component # 2 – Ministry Opportunities and Events

1. SERVING BBC MEMBERS
  • Fix-It Taskforce (Labor, repair, clean up, odd jobs, etc.)
  • League of Extraordinary Experts (“Experts” teach and train in trades and life skills)
  • Paul/Timothy discipleship opportunities
  • BBC Small Group Coordinated Men’s Projects

2. MEN’S EVENTS TO GROW RELATIONSHIPS AND SHARED EXPERIENCES
  • Basketball, Disc Golf, Golf
  • Camping and Fishing trips
  • Game Night, Book Club, Barbershop
  • Fellowship Meals
  • Minister to Community First-responders
  • Short-term missions (Serve at local rescue missions)

Component # 3 – Monthly Men’s Meeting

(The Men’s Briefing)

  • Biblical teaching that is unique, topical/thematic,and practical to help men grow as a man of God.
  • Feasting to celebrate the goodness of God, the joy of fellowship, and the gifts and abilities of our men.
  • Announcements that matter to mission and co-laboring of men at BBC
  • Discussion and prayer groups with leaders
  • Assignment/accountability that promotes continual growth and fights apathy
  • Saturday mornings 8-10am

Component # 4 – Bi-Annual Retreat

  • Planning and strategy for our lives and ministry
  • Teaching
  • Fellowship
  • Every other year (Kick-off: October 2022, Camp Wabanna)
