We made a difficult call to cancel church this past Sunday. We don’t make it a habit to cancel church for a number of reasons, but last week we didn’t believe we were prepared for the snow that was still falling at the time we made the decision. Lord willing, this Sunday we will meet, even if we have to delay the start of service.
However, one of the unexpected blessings I enjoyed last Sunday, was to listen to the live stream of Hope Bible Church’s service. It was Pastor Leake’s 58th birthday and he gave a special message that was part exposition and part personal testimony. Through the words of the Apostle Paul, Pastor Tom shared his confidence with the congregation that he would survive this second battle with cancer. He did not claim to have any special revelation from God or special connection with a faith healer, rather his examination of Philippians 1:21-26 gave him the boldness to declare what Paul declared about his own situation. How was Paul able to say with confidence that “I know that I will remain and continue with you all”? I will let you listen to the message to find out:
Please continue to be in prayer for Pastor Leake and the congregation of Hope Bible Church.
In Christ Alone,
