Paul introduces himself in relationship to Jesus Christ (Romans 1:1)

1) He is a bond-servant of Christ Jesus

2) He is called as an apostle of Christ Jesus

3) And He is set apart for the gospel of God concerning His Son (Christ Jesus)

 

Who was Paul before he became the apostle to the Gentiles? (Acts 22:3)

1) He was Saul of Tarsus

2) He was a student of Gamaliel 

3) He was Zealous for God 

 

I. Paul is a Slave of Christ (1a) 

 

II. Paul is Sent by Christ (1b)

 

Apostles are:         

1)  Personally and Directly Commissioned by Christ

2)  Personal Eye-Witnesses of the Resurrected Christ

3)  Able to Produce Verifiable Miraculous Signs of an Apostle

4)  Foundational to the Church

 

III. Paul is Set Apart for the Gospel Concerning Christ (1c)
